本套学习手册按使用学期和内容分为三大部分：第一部分是大学应用英语预备级练习册，包括15讲语法训练练习题（纸质书本+ iSmart在线内容）；第二部分是大学应用英语1-3词汇学习手册，包括15个单元的词汇英汉互译练习（纸质书本+ iSmart在线内容）；第三部分是大学应用英语1-3课堂活动需要使用的材料页（线上资源）。《大学应用英语学习手册（1-3）》的设计题型紧密结合具体教材内容、灵活多样，每个单元每个模块的练习和习题针对不同语言材料的体裁和内容特点或根据某一具体的语言知识、语言技能、学习方法设计。手册中的Activity部分则丰富有趣，既适宜于教师教学，也可带动学生的学习兴趣，巩固所学内容。
《大学应用英语学习手册（1-3）》是《大学应用英语综合教程》的配套词汇练习册，以应用型本科院校非英语专业本科一、二年级学生为主要教学对象，以夯实学生的词汇知识，训练其词汇运用能力为目标，为顺利进行听、说、读、写、译等语言交流奠定基础。

《大学应用英语学习手册（1-3）》（以下简称《学习手册（1-3）》）是由北京城市学院和高等教育出版社共同规划、设计、编写的大学英语词汇学习手册。
《学习手册（1-3）》是北京城市学院大学英语教学团队主编的《大学应用英语综合教程》的配套词汇学习手册，主要围绕教材各单元的精读文章（In-depth Reading）和应用文阅读（Real World Reading）两篇课文中出现的重要词汇进行学习和训练。《学习手册（1-3）》适用于应用型本科院校非英语专业学生，旨在夯实学生的词汇知识，训练其词汇运用能力，为顺利进行听、说、读、写、译等语言技能训练和综合英语应用能力培养奠定基础。词汇学习是英语语言学习的重要组成部分。《学习手册（1-3）》把学习重点置于课文阅读中重要单词的词性和词义，在上下文中的特殊含义，与其他相关词汇的搭配，与其他近义词或反义词的辨析和对比等方面。此外，《学习手册（1-3）》针对每个单词设计了突出其主要词义和用法的英汉或汉英句子翻译练习，促进学生对英汉两种语言中词义及表达习惯异同之处的理解和运用。
