7.2 Impact of Fire Burnmg Calories and Rising Speed on Safety
For large commercial districts and the ground buildings, once a fire occurs, the floor is higher, the loss is greater, and the e.scape safety coefficient is lower.Tall building evacuation system is mainly through the stairs, windows or aerial ladder and helicopters, etc.According to incomplete stati.stic.s, in case a fire occurring in a high—rise, survivors running away from the stairs account for more than about 97% of the total, not e.scape stairs, the more high more dangerous. The main reason is that in the lower floor persons can use the rope from the window to escape, escape form high—rise uilding is difficult. For the large foreign hotel rooms in addition to install alarms, every room in the base of bed, placed with wheels have tied ropes, for .safe escape. These ropes are in more than 20 meters long, can use it at least or down the rope to the ground, or to a lower floor, at least the possibility of escape. The ground buildings can escape way at least, not a single is given priority to with the stairs. However, the underground mall is different. It has no more than the possibility of escape.
Generally speaking, the underground mall is surrounded by walls without window.s, unless there is a special set of channels, this is only the stairs, because in the event of fire, the lift is the only system to ban the use of personnel flow channel is the stairs. Therefore stair channel with the passage of the stairs in underground mall have different functions with that of the overground mall in a fire or other emergencies occur, for it i.s the only way to personnel outflow in the mall.
